PalletTool 3 - Determining the UTOOL Values for Custom Grippers
Learn how to set accurate UTOOL offsets for custom grippers in PalletTool 3, including X, Y, Z, and R values for multi-zone setups.
Steve takes us through the steps of setting up an operation, which is split into three screens. First comes the system setup screen. System setup is where you set up general system functions like the pallet and infeed stations and the grippers. Next you will see the product setup screen, where you will be creating and managing unit loads. Product setup is where most of the overall set up time is spent. Last is the run screen, which controls robot operation. When creating a unit load on the product set up screen, you can create a copy of an existing unit load or create a new one from scratch. The setup of each unit load is broken up into four tabs: dimensions, placement pattern, layers, and optimal path. Steve goes through the information in each of these tabs, explaining how and why you might customize different items. After completing the unit load setup, you will move to the run screen to test it. To begin running, you select the pallet station and infeed you would like to use, the unit load you want to run, and where you want to start within the pallet. If you are not starting with an empty pallet, you can begin from any specified point throughout the pallet if needed. The video concludes by showing a quick example of running through the process after you already have a better understanding of what all the items are for.
