iRVision Part Z Height
How to properly set the Part Z Height in an iRVision 2D Vision Process
The GEdit feature in iRVision GPM Locator allows the manual definition of edges for precise edge detection in vision processes. It is used to locate target edges by drawing a box around the target and finding all the edges that transition from light to dark. The setup includes an R30iB Plus virtual robot controller running in ROBOGUIDE on a laptop, and a Basler USB camera providing live images of sample parts. The feature is accessed from the robot home page and is used to manually add perfect edges to the model, especially in cases like bolt vision process and stamped metal brackets with contoured edges. The example in the video, the G Edit feature enables the creation of straight lines and arcs along the shaft of the bolt, adjusts the polarity of the edges, and improves edge detection and scores of the vision process. It has been available since the R30iB days, allowing the creation of a perfect model from the start.
