FANUC DCS Setup (Dual Check Safety)

Jul 15, 2020

The video covers the setup and training for FANUC DCS, emphasizing the importance of modeling tooling with user models, using the robot model provided by FANUC, and implementing CPCs to restrict robot space for safety and efficiency. The training course is three days long and covers everything about DCS, designed to limit the robot's working envelope and protect investments. The advanced DCS package provides additional tools on the teach pendant, allowing for easy on-screen definition of safe zones. The user creates a new DCS CPC to protect the robot and tooling from collisions with specific objects, such as a rack, using the teach pendant, applies the changes, cycles the power, and tests the robot's movement to observe the impact of the new DCS CPC on avoiding collisions with the rack. By default, all Fanuc robots have the code number as all ones, which can be changed in the settings, and after making changes, the user reviews the pending changes and then cycles the power to use the new parameters.
