Mncedisi (Disi) Sikhondze is a Staff Engineer at FANUC America with more than a decade of experience in robotics automation. Since joining FANUC in 2017, he has progressed from Robotics Instructor to Staff Engineer, playing a key role in advancing collaborative robot adoption in automotive assembly. In his current role, Disi troubleshoots complex robot application challenges, develops trade show demonstrations showcasing FANUC’s latest technologies, and works closely with customers and developers to translate market needs into innovative product features.

Before joining FANUC, Disi worked as a Tool Design and Manufacturing Engineer in high-volume automotive production and as a Design Consultant and Instructor at Dartmouth College’s Thayer School of Engineering machine shop. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Dartmouth College and continually expands his technical horizons, having completed certification courses in web programming, networking, and cybersecurity, and is currently exploring technologies at the intersection of Robot Operating System (ROS) and artificial intelligence. Passionate about innovation and mentorship, Disi is dedicated to advancing automation technology while supporting the next generation of Engineering talent.

Outside of work, Disi enjoys family time, whether playing soccer in the park or building radio-controlled cars, kites, and paper airplanes.
