Remote Motion Interface - ASCII Mode

Jun 17, 2024

The video discusses the ASCII mode feature of the remote motion interface (RMI) option for FANUC robots, enabling a PC to send commands and get status from a robot controller using TCP socket messaging. RMI ASCII mode allows the PC to command robot operations not enabled by RMI JSON mode, such as palletizing instructions or dynamic path modification instructions. Installation of option R912 on the robot is required to use RMI, and steps to initialize RMI include accessing system variables and setting 'ABSN enable' to true. Example C++ code is also shown for sending commands for the RMI move TP program to call the palletize Karel function with program arguments on a CRX robot.
