How to Remote Start a Robot using the OTHER Method (Part 2)
This video is the second in a series about how to use the User Operator Panel Inputs and Outputs (UOP I/O) to remotely start a robot on an R-30iB Plus controller. Katie will resume the conversation started in the “How to Remote Start a Robot – Part 1” Tech Short video (found here), which covered: the OTHER Production Startup method, how to set up the OTHER Production Startup details, and described the roles of each of the User Operator Panel Input and Output (UOP I/O) signals. This Part 2 video will explain: how to: configure the UOP I/O, set the necessary System Configuration settings, and run the robot using the UOP I/O signals. It also discusses the CSTOPI for ABORT and the START for CONTINUE ONLY settings.
What you will need:
- Some familiarity with teach pendant programming, including conditional and unconditional branching instructions.
- Familiarity with the I/O configuration process
- The I/O module hardware and software for the desired UOP I/O module connecting the robot and the controlling entity (ex: PLC)
- Ability to interpret your system’s wiring diagrams
What we will go over:
- How to configure the UOP I/O signals
- System Configuration settings for Remote mode operation
- Enable UI Signals
- Remote/Local setup
- CSTOPI for ABORT
- START for CONTINUE ONLY
- Running the robot using the UOP signals
